What is the minimum educational qualification required for the Anatomy post?

Candidates must hold a Post-Graduate degree in Anatomy or super-speciality from a recognized Teaching Institute. Acceptable qualifications include Master of Surgery (Anatomy), Doctor of Medicine (Anatomy), Diplomate National Board (Anatomy), or equivalent qualifications as specified in the notification.

How much teaching experience is required?

Candidates must have a minimum of three years' teaching experience as Senior Resident, Tutor, Demonstrator, Registrar, Assistant Professor, or Lecturer in the concerned specialty or super-specialty in a recognized teaching institution after obtaining the first Post Graduate degree.

Can I practice privately if selected for this position?

No. Private practice of any kind whatsoever is strictly prohibited for selected candidates, including any consultation and laboratory practice. This is a mandatory service condition under the CHS Rules, 2014.

What is the probation period for this position?

The probation period is one year. Candidates will be confirmed or made permanent on satisfactory completion of this probation period.

Can I serve outside Delhi after appointment?

Yes. While the headquarters is Delhi, officers appointed to this service are liable to serve anywhere in India as per the requirements of the government.

Is there a relaxation in age limit for PwBD candidates in the General Medicine post?

Yes. For the General Medicine post, PwBD candidates are eligible for an additional age relaxation of up to 10 years beyond the standard age limit applicable to their category (UR/EWS/OBC/SC/ST).

Can the experience requirement be relaxed?

Yes. The experience requirement is relaxable at the discretion of UPSC for reasons to be recorded in writing. For the Anatomy post, relaxation is available for SC candidates. For the General Medicine post, relaxation is available for SC and ST candidates if sufficient candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available.
