In-hand salary calculator
Pick the pay level and the city, and this works out basic pay, dearness allowance, house rent allowance, transport allowance and what comes off for NPS and CGHS. Dearness allowance is 60.0%, effective 1 July 2026 — every salary table that does not print that date is quietly out of date, because the rate moves twice a year.

The level is set by the recruitment, not by the exam, and a few posts inside the same exam sit at different levels. Where a notification states the level, the vacancy page here prints it — that figure comes from the document and this one is worked out from the rules, which is not the same kind of claim.
What this does and does not include
- Included: basic pay from the 7th CPC matrix, dearness allowance at 60.0%, HRA at 30/20/10% for X/Y/Z cities, transport allowance with DA on it, and deductions for NPS and CGHS.
- Not included: income tax, which depends on your whole year and your regime; professional tax, which a few states levy and most do not; CGEGIS; any post-specific allowance such as a uniform, ration, risk or field allowance; and arrears.
- So treat it as an estimate. It is built from published rules and it will be close, but your first payslip is the only authority on your pay.
Where these numbers come from
The pay matrix is the 7th Central Pay Commission's, as notified. Dearness allowance is revised by the Department of Expenditure twice a year and is 60.0% from 1 July 2026. HRA steps up as DA crosses 25% and 50%, which is why it is 30/20/10% rather than the 24/16/8% you will still find quoted on older pages.
